About Me

—  about me  —

Pilates is for every BODY.

My own journey into Pilates can be traced back to my first class in 2009. With each session, the connection between my mind and body grew deeper. I immediately fell in love with the practice. Each class was challenging and transformative. I was stronger, more flexible, and pain-free. After several years of consistent practice, I completed my first certification in Contemporary/High Intensity Pilates and then followed that up with a Classical Pilates certification at Pilates Institute of Southern California. A lifelong learner, I love sharing my knowledge with my students. And I regularly attend workshops offered by Movement Science Made Simple, Franklin Method, Breathe Education and others to stay current and grow in knowledge. As a Heritage Training graduate (a post-graduate program for Pilates professionals), I have extensively studied the work of Kathy Grant including the "Before the Hundred,” “After the Hundred” and Strap Work from Grant’s lineage. I am certified in all Pilates apparatus.

A South Bay resident for over twenty years, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Master’s Degree in Theology from Loyola Marymount University. As a trained Theta Healer and Reiki Master (Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that helps release stuck energy and remove blockages) my approach with each and every client is highly individualized, and seeks to combine Pilates and energy work. Movement is healing. Movement is medicine. We all benefit from the energy shift that comes from movement. I have also participated in various meditation and breathwork courses. The essence of Pilates is a moving (active) meditation. This conscious movement allows us to change how we move so we can feel better in our bodies.

Pilates is for every BODY. Pilates is for everyone from beginner to advanced--it can be adapted to many fitness levels and needs. I work with many different people--people with various goals including people recovering from injury or surgery, people who want to function better, and teen athletes who want to improve their performance in their particular sport. We do Pilates not to do Pilates better, but to live better.

I look forward to working with you, please reach out if you are interested in booking a lesson.
